Finding their offense early, Snipes skated out to a big lead and held off KG 7-4 to win the C League championship. The title victory is Snipes first Hockey Long Island Cup crown.

After being held to a lonely tally in the previous game, a focused Snipes squad scored thrice in the first ten minutes. The dazed KG crew finally woke up and closed the opening period down just 3-1 and up a man. This penalty kill proved the match's critical moment. As Snipes was finishing the penalty kill, C League MVP Sean Hroch snuck behind a napping KG defense. Hroch, fresh off the bench on the penalty box substitution, broke in free and went yard sale on a slick double move that re-established a three goal Snipes lead. Snipes quickly furthered the lead to 6-1 and kept at bay a scrapping KG team that would close to 6-4 but ultimately no closer.
